Always on the lookout for a quality slim leather wallet/card holder, this unique design caught my eye and I’ve fallen for it bigtime. Probably one of my favorite accessories (besides a timepiece, or dare I say it- watch), is the wallet. My style began with a sweet florescent Velcro tri-fold from when I was 13 and needed somewhere to hold the $26 from my first paycheck. Then in High School, it was a leather tri-fold with a huge photo-album style insert for pictures. Over time I increased the need for slots, pockets and folds to carry my life in, even developing the notorious ‘fat-wallet’ pattern on the rear-pocket of my jeans. Then I discovered another way (only slightly guided by

I often find myself in this predicament, do I want the style of a card wallet or the simplicity of a money clip? I traditionally find it is best to just carry 3 cards, an ID and some cash, all of which fit nice and tightly into either device. Situation usually dictates my choice, am I wearing slimmer fitting slacks or more roomy clothes that can absorb the extra bulk without bulging out. More often than not, I pair a money clip with more formal attire since it tends to be more fitted and thinner fabric and thus would accommodate a card wallet less elegantly. I believe this may just be a part of the evolution of the wallet in

I feel like I should be sipping a gimlet or mint julep at the track with these on, although that is pretty far from where I am. Nevertheless, they are beautifully crafted with some interesting style points. Much like suede elbow patches, it softens the look a bit, bringing it a bit more towards casual, but staying smart. These Brown leather Derby shoes from Folk are fitted with suede panel heels and leather lining and soles. Of course they are handmade from soft, supple leather and would fit in with jeans, tweed or a seersucker suit. From $380 (on sale for $190!) on Mr Porter [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]

Who doesn’t love a nice pair of leather boots? The John Varvatos lace up ankle boot has all the trimmings of a great casual boot to last a long time while aging gracefully. Shall I list them off? Designer Italian leather tops (very important to have a quality leather top) Leather soles (means the sole will literally mold to your foot over time) Rounded cap toe (a classic style which will out live the ‘square toe box’ fad) Having owned many pairs of shoes, I have come to notice that my more expensive ($250+) shoes not only break in and become more comfortable, but they also last forever. I may be a bit hard on my shoes, but it seems

Having been searching for the perfect briefcase for all occasions, I found one in one of the most unlikely places. I took to the internet, which is not usually my style when it comes to style. I prefer to see items such as these in person, so i can feel the leather, observe the craftsmanship and verify the quality. Now that I have, I feel as if I must share it with you all. The leather goods from Saddleback Leather are of the highest quality, unlike anything I have seen from high-end designer bags even. My recent purchase of a leather travel duffelbag opened my eyes to the world of quality handmade products without designer labels. I feel this bag

These beauties are not only unconventional, they are also traditional. Take a beautifully styled Italian dress shoe and mix in some interesting, but tastefully muted colors and a bit of suede, and voila. Complete with a foot molding leather sole and a 3/4″ heel, the Italian suede leather is dyed a salvia and ras color and is completed by a perforated trim. I’m imagining the perfect outing in these shoes as a game of croquet in a polo shirt and shorts followed up by a cooling afternoon cocktail on the patio at the club. Any takers? $475 from Antonio Maurizi [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]

Bags for men can be a bit of a hit or miss journey. It can be difficult to traverse travel bags for men by handbag and luggage designers such as Coach or Louis Vuitton, but rian has done it quite brilliantly. I must say his handbag line for women is pretty spot on too. Leather overnight or weekend bags to messenger bags, rian has managed to combine classic looks with modern style with his artistic designs and use of hardware. Being as i just moved, I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for suitable furniture. My favorites overall have been the tufted leather club chairs I have seen from Four Hands furniture. In a dark, weathered leather, these handcrafted with seven stages of staining, sealing and buffing giving it that authentic aged and weathered distressed look. Upholstered seating you would find in an upscale smoking club in Tribeca, or an ultra chic Southbeach Miami nightclub, these individually tacked nail heads create the tufts in the leather which have been antiqued with linseed oil and talc require 8-14 hours to create the finish. The three pictured are the Conrad Club Chair in Espresso leather from the Carnegie Vintage Leather collection,

A beautiful pair of casually dressy cap-toes, I love the simple, clean lines with the lightly weathered broken-in leather. Alexander McQueen designs can sometimes be a bit over the top and edgy, but these are just classic and beautiful. Available in both black and brown, these leather soled beauties are made in Italy. $670.00 from Barneys New York [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]

I am a sucker for appliques, shoulder pads and elbow pads, especially in leather, so when I saw this jersey from Zara, it was on my list. I would have preferred it to be wool, but the acrylic/polyester blend will at least stay drier than cotton, and the style just can’t be beat. Besides, its a steal at £29.99. Classic casual style with that rougher edge, this leather appliques jersey from Zara embodies the well dressed mountain man. £29.99 from Zara Men [ad name=”go-STIL-smbanner”]
